howie day

home (as in, my parents' house, which is oddly enough what i have come to think of it as) is one of the few places that i know of where st. patrick's day is probably THE most important event of the year. well, not exactly st. patrick's day. the day of the st. patrick's day parade here, which is tomorrow. and then of course, there is the big on in manhattan on the 17th. so it's almost like thanksgiving and christmas. anyway, my house is covered in green, the corn beefs (all seven of them!) have been cooked in anticipation of the 75 or so guests that we usually entertain.

the newest addition is my parents' brand new sound system. it's a sony megastorage 300 cd changer... and it is so frickin cool. i gotta get me one of these puppies. i've found my entertainment for the week, that's for sure.

still no news from grad schools.

i went to this really divey bar last night with a completely random group of people. well, not *really* random... the boys from this night were going out to celebrate one of their acceptances to grad school... yay for him, boo for me... but anyway i somehow got invited. it was fun, because i actually talked to members of the male specimen without being a complete and utter tool, and they paid for *all* of my beer. i guess that is the benefit of having guy friends around, which i somehow seem to have forgotten. anyway, i was proud of myself for going and being adventurous, and i hope to hang around more with that crew before the year is over.

in other exciting news, it looks like there will be one more chance for me to play peter pan this summer and be a camp counselor... i got a letter today that the camp is reopening at a new location. there is something about summer that makes me a better person, and i cant help feeling its intrinsically tied to camp. so one more crack at it might be a really calming and centering thing before i go off to ________ (boston, indiana, or england).

*and* i am on matt nathanson's webpage--one of the actual webpages, not the forum. i'm not going to give you the direct link :) but i promise, if you go to www.mattnathanson.com and look around, you will find my name. :) promise you won't stalk me now? ok.
