ok. classes are done.

tuesday night was the howie day/roots concert, which was okay... but the sound system suucccccked. and i felt badly for the roots because people just weren't into it. (myself included.) but it wasn't my fault, i didn't get to drink because i had to write a paper due wednesday... fifteen pages, all before matt/howie in noho.

so wednesday was torturous. i finally got to page thirteen, 35 minutes after we were supposed to leave. so i'm all ready to say fuck it and email the thing, and, i open my email and we got an extension! grrr. i was so frustrated. but it's a good thing, i guess.

and, it didn't matter because we got there on time. northampton is sooo cool! i want to live there one day. maybe i'll teach around there. there's so much cool stuff to do. anyway the show was at pearl st., i had never been there before, but it was a cool place. a bit like the paradise without the balcony. so we squeezed ourselves up front, although unfortunately to the way left, right next to the speakers. we were there for only a few minutes and then matty came on! fish, the cellist, was still there, which was awesome bc i thought he was going off tour. AND... they played with DRUMS!! ohh my lord, the drums kick so much ass. i was pretty afraid, to be quite honest, of not liking the drums. but, just the opposite. matt was hella energetic, and hilarious as usual. the set list was awesome!!! although of course, far too short. he covered summer of 69 which was cool and rather time appropriate, i thought. oh man, i love him... seeing him on stage is the greatest thing in the world. so then the place filled up for howie... and he totally rocked. he was really gracious, too, which was pretty surprising. he did some old school songs too, and stuff with the pedals, which was cool. after the show i got to talk to megan, a fellow matt fan, abt some upcoming secret matt stuff :) yay. we were waiting to get out and there was a huge line, and i said 'i bet anything that matt is in the middle of the lobby holding everyone up' and what do ya know, i was right :) first of all, we saw stephen kellogg!! he looked very rockstaresque, it was totally rad. i was too shy to say anything bc i dont know much of his music... but he seemed cool. he was just there to hang out bc he matt and howie are all friends. so we're in the line to talk to matt, and he hugs some girl and then he sees me and gets all excited and smiles at me! it was awesome, he totally was excited to see catherine and i. so then howie comes down and everyone runs over to talk to him so we get to talk to matt for longer. he was so excited and happy to see us :) we got like seven hugs and he remembered all these things i told him last time-- including the fact that we may very well be hanging out with him in NY after irving plaza!!!! my pal chris lives down the street from there, so i've been pestering matt abt it, but he remembered :) and he kept touching my arm when i was talking to him :) :swoon: i actually was able to look at him when i was talking to him, usually i am too nervous. that was so awesome though, he honestly is the nicest guy in the entire world. its weird, i see matt nathanson more than i see some of my best friends! it was such an awesome night.

also, i have been talking a lot with a prospective roommate named josh who emailed me from the BC housing list. i'm going to meet him on the 17th but he seems like an awesome person and that we would make great roommates. of course, me being the insane person that i am, i am falling in love with him after seven emails haha... which could pose a problem if we live together. but, i definitely want to meet him. he is interesting and we have some cool things in common. now, how to ask if he has a gf hahaha...

well speaking of guys... remember this dude? turns out, he saw my friends in the same bar this week and came up to them, said he broke up with his gf and had been thinking abt me a lot and gave them his number to give to me. he told them that he really wanted me to call and said to apologize for screwing things up with me.
