i just watched howie day on letterman singing "she says." it's odd, because that is the song that made me fall in love with howie almost *four* years ago, and now he's on letterman, has a video on the top 20 in vh1, and... well, yeah. it makes me feel old.
this is a pic from sophomore year of college... i think it was the second time that i met mr. day... it was quite exciting (note the cheestastic smile on my face! i think that this was the beginning of my guitar-boy-crush phase) and he was pretty nice back then. not that he's not nice now, i think that he's just pretty shy and it freaks him out that people think of him as a celebrity. it's hard, because now i can't help but compare him to matt, and matt is *SO* friendly and sweet. even though i think that i would probably have a reaction more akin to howie's if a bunch of random strangers felt like they knew me because of my music, i definitely sort of hold it against him that he's not more like matt.
(and yes, i have fully resorted to referring to matt on a first name basis. so there.)
but anyway, "she says" is a great tune. one of howie's best. and hearing it made me all nostalgic. it's really nice to see that he has gotten some success. i hope the same is coming for matt in the future!! :)
